Covid – 19 Club update
Covid-19 club update
Hi everyone
I hope this finds you all well and that everyone has managed to keep their photography skills going.
Over the past few weeks we have had fantastic interactions to help us stay together. This being in the form of zoom meetings and youtube videos – from Dave Cameron which has been so helpful – and Stewart has kept us going wth his nae-pub meetings in the locked-Inn zoom meetings. More recent is the new Tuesday theme nights started last week with an idea from Davey Meilke. This has been testing the newly set-up online cometition entry box (similar to a dropbox). This proved to be a success. Last week the theme was ‘kitchen tools’. This week is your interpretation of ‘Lockdown’. Entries to be submitted through the club website – log in and look for the online entry box. Thankyou to everyone who has interacted and set these wonderful ideas up.
Security cameras have also been set up in the clubhouse thanks to John Duffy.
With the easing of lockdown and entering Phase 1, I hope that we can soon meet up and tie up the loose ends of club matters. I am particularly keen to have the presentations and AGM as soon as feasibly possible. We may need to combine this and miss out the Annual Cups trophy this year. Is there anyone who can access the results to collate them for the presentations, remembering our 2 online judges?
When I first agreed to take on the role of Chairperson, I told the committiee at the time that I could not promise to remain for the full two year term as I was hoping to move away from the area to relocate in the Highlands since my mum died. This has now been realised and we plan to move once we’ve sold our house here, as soon as possble.
Some of my close friends in the club, know what a stressful time this has been for me and have been very supportive . For this I have been very grateful. The stress is ongoing, unfortunately but not as intense.
In the meantime, for those of you who may have lost a close one, for whatever reason, please accept my condolences. I too, lost my mother in law just before lockdown, with her funeral being held in the first week of lockdown. So I know how difficult it has been for anyone in these difficult times. If you have had or know someone who has or had coronovirus, I wish you a speedy recovery. Please stay safe and follow the advice so we can get back to real life.
Regards
Zoe Gray
