The Forward Group is an informal discussion group, a forum for people to talk about their photography. We do not give basic instruction in technique or equipment. Having said that, we do welcome members of all abilities who feel they can take advantage of our approach. You do not have to bring material for discussion – everybody is welcome just to watch and listen to what other members have to show or say.
The general idea is to bring along a few prints or PDIs (maybe up to a dozen) and put them up for discussion. These may be images from an idea that you are pursuing; they may be a set of images from a recent event, or they may be the germ of an idea for aiming for a distinction. You may be thinking of entering external competitions or exhibitions. You might just want to get an opinion of some of your favourite photographs! Sometimes one member will lead off the meeting with a short presentation of material that they are working on.
So why not come long – you will enjoy it I am sure and might even learn a thing or two.
We usually meet monthly during the season, check the Syllabus for the latest dates.
